Last updated: 3 November 2026
RAME wants everyone to be able to read our stories, follow the charts and play our games, whatever device or assistive technology they use. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
Current status
rameglobal.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA: most of the site meets the standard, but some parts do not yet. This assessment was made by RAME itself in November 2026; the site has not had an external audit.
What already works
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content, and the layout adapts to phones.
- Pages, menus and story panels can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Buttons and links have text labels that screen readers announce.
- Animations are reduced if you turn on “reduce motion” on your device.
- The site has light and dark modes and follows your device setting.
Known limitations
| Area | Issue | What we are doing |
|---|---|---|
| Story covers | Our cover images have the story title written into the image. On some lists, the title is not yet repeated as text, so screen readers may miss it | Adding the title as text or as image alternative text on every list |
| Homepage timeline | The sideways scrolling timeline can be hard to use with some assistive technologies | The full list of stories is always available on the Stories page |
| Videos | Captions depend on what YouTube provides; some videos have only automatic captions | Adding checked captions to new RAME videos |
| Song previews | Some features rely on listening to a 30-second preview | Improving text alternatives in RAME Charts and RAME Play |
| Older stories | Some stories published before 2026 lack image descriptions | Reviewing them as we update the archive |
