Sony Music Publishing has promoted Monica Jordan to Vice President of Creative A&R for its Latin division. Jordan, known for signing artists such as Jesús “JOP” Ortiz Paz, Myke Towers, Anitta, and Edén Muñoz, will continue reporting to Sony Music Publishing’s President and CEO, Latin America & US Latin, Jorge Mejia. Jordan, who will continue operating from Miami, has spent 15 years at the company, rising from A&R Manager to her previous role as Director, Creative A&R.
Jordan’s expanded responsibilities include developing SMP’s Latin songwriter roster, advancing creative strategy, and identifying new revenue opportunities across the division. She is grateful for Jorge Mejia’s trust and invaluable encouragement and is excited to collaborate further with the superstar team at Sony Music Publishing.
Jordan’s promotion comes as Latin music continues to grow globally, particularly in the US, where revenues reached a record $1.423 billion on a retail basis in 2024, surpassing the $1 billion mark for the third consecutive year. The US recorded music industry as a whole was up 3.3% YoY in 2024, reaching $17.67 billion.
Sony Music Publishing Latin’s promotion marks the latest across SMP’s global operations, following the recent promotions of Margherita Gnech to Managing Director of Italy, Sarah Gabrielli to Head of A&R, Henry Naldjian to Chief Technology Officer, and Katie Welle to President, Head of US A&R.
