Diljit Dosanjh, a Punjabi rockstar, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on New Year’s Day, where they engaged in a wide-ranging discussion, with music taking center stage. Dosanjh sang one of his hit songs, causing the Prime Minister to tap his fingers to the rhythm, visibly captivated by the Punjabi superstar’s infectious energy and musical prowess.
During the meeting, Dosanjh presented the Prime Minister with a poster from his Dil-Luminati tour of India, a significant moment in his career. PM Modi shared his thoughts on the meeting, describing it as a “great interaction” and praised Diljit as a “truly multifaceted” individual. He highlighted the diverse topics they discussed, including music and culture, emphasizing the meaningful connection they shared during the meeting.
PM Modi remarked that Dosanjh had been “winning over people” and praised India’s diversity. He also mentioned the power of yoga, stating that the greatest magic in India is yoga and that those who have experienced yoga know its true power. Diljit Dosanjh has been a big advocate of yoga and vocal about how it has helped him tremendously.
The grand finale of his three-month tour took place on New Year’s Eve in Ludhiana. The tour, which began in Delhi in October, saw Diljit performing in various cities across India, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. Before concluding in Ludhiana, he held his second-last concert in Guwahati on December 29.
In addition to his musical success, Diljit has made an impact in the film industry, being featured in the movie Amar Singh Chamkila Crew and the Punjabi film Jatt and Juliet 3. He has several upcoming films, including Border 2 and a sequel to No Entry.
