SZA, a 35-year-old music star, recently shared her lessons from a transformative “silent retreat” in India with her mother, Audrey. She discussed the importance of waiting and the need to go beyond pain to find joy and peace. The 10-day retreat, led by Sadghuru, included no phone use, mirrors, and eye contact. SZA shared photos of the “Samyama Experience” on Instagram, showing off her orange sari, the food she ate, and the young children she spent time with.
The peace was needed, especially given the fallout with her former manager, Top Dawg Entertainment’s president Terrence “Punch” Henderson. Their tensions reached a boiling point in December 2024, shortly after SZA released SOS Deluxe: LANA. Despite the negativity, 2025 could be another huge year for SZA, as she will join Kendrick Lamar at his Super Bowl LIX halftime show performance in New Orleans this weekend before they head on the Grand National tour in April. Their two-month road trip will include stops at stadiums in Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Seattle, Toronto, and Inglewood, Calif.
SZA expressed gratitude to the Shashi Foundation, Sadhguru, Chekothari, and every Isha volunteer that took care of her mother and herself. She also expressed her love for the process and life, stating that life is profound, chaotic, and beautiful.
